Relax and enjoy the show, G. They will self-destruct, and the people will activate at the right moment on a big scale and the world will eventually be reformed, one country at a time. As the Tiger Woods debacle (and countless other rich, powerful, and famous public atrocities) has taught us: No one is invincible. As much as I despise the advent of this crazy social networking phenomenon, it may prove to be our savior.
Ps. This is how I foresee it playing out, and if it does, it won't be quick, and it won't be pretty. Expect sabotage among the conservative elite, and exploitation among their liberal counterparts. Either way, we are in for some interesting times. But I do think Power of the People does have a chance. There are just too many injustices to deny our strength in this free and innovative country. We are, and have been for a while, in a state of cloaked fascism. People have shown they can mobilize, and I don't think we've witnessed the last of that, by any stretch of the imagination.
Ps. The Global Demographic Tailwinds don't have an intermediate term chance to keep these big companies dominant. Even though the conglomerates pussified this country, don't expect the result to be the same everywhere else. It sure sounds easy to throw your savings at the the big companies though, doesn't it? Maybe praying is the magic potion, lol. Ummmm, big=powerful=rich. If only it equated to happiness: then they'd be on to something. Instead, I think they are on something, and that trip is about to fizzle. Unfortunately, the mimicking masses will suffer the most: Not everyone will cope well, and there is very little we can do about it.
