Well, actually it's not so much what I see versus what I "hear" !
First, if you do a little background (past) history (news)....Thomson is still digesting the REUTERS takeover ie. that's where a lot of the current debt comes from.
Additionally, they're now settling things down a bit (time has passed) since that happened and they're really assessing where their business strengths are ie. as such the harvesting of the HC piece.
But --- what I "HEAR" is the "inside perspective" ie. my son-in-law (KC) works for Thomson (on the text book education side of their business). Beyond winning a major SALES AWARD (nationally) in 2011, he's got a pretty goood feel for the business.
Soooooooooooooooooo.......just looking at potential opportunties !! I'm still not sold on it ---- but, adding it to a DIVVY WATCHLIST w/ several others. If you see any other red flags --- circle back on it, ok.
Gurus oversimplify everything. Investing, like life, is always more complicated than you think.
