Many people, in my opinion, equate ugliness and angst to art.

I agree, though sometimes it is hard to actually see the difference in a films tone.

With the constant negativity in our society and the way the media exploites it. Hollywood takes notice of what we like to see, the way we devour every dish the bad element sits in front of us. I mean come on....Court TV, my grandmothers favorite channel.

Lunacy, best word I can use to describe it. Then come the dark films, to suppress our appetite. This is where the acting has to come in for me, impossible to tell the difference sometimes.

Yes, one can only take so much; but I learned along time ago, mood has everything to do with your afterthoughts on a film. If your head is not right, the picture can seem off kilter, or not needed at that time in your life.

To answer your question, my saturation point, I am very aware when it is near. I will then switch to another genre of film, when I start to feel drained on one subject too long. Lately it has been the foreign/subtitle, but I find I can easily catch most that is thrown at me.

Sweet Hereafter?? No, I added it to the queue though!!!
