another positive is that a big divi will attract many income seeking investors who would otherwise stay away from Chinese stocks. Also it will discourage many shorts from trying their luck here b/c every decline in price will be counteracted by a rising yield. This will however not work if the intention is to uplist to Nasdaq (where the stock is more exposed to short attacks) a few years before the big divi is declared.
