The real issue with financing by equity is not how it affects the EPS. The issue is that issuing shares at p/e 1 sends a signal to the market that management is willing to sell the issued shares for a very low price.

And it is also that there's a risk that the market will be flooded by shares.

In the conference call Solomon focused on how the EPS was affected by issuing shares, which isn't the real issue in my opinion.

But let's hope that the issuing of shares will calm down in 2013 as he said in the last conference call.
