Kewl International the hockey-based apparel company, and Kool Telecom, a subsidiary of a privately held Canadian telecom company offering a full range of telecom services, said today they are finalizing an agreement which they expect to be signed early next week to jointly launch a hockey-based "Collector Series" pre-paid telephone calling card. The cards will feature pictures, signatures and eventually greetings and voice messages from leading professional hockey players and are expected to have great collector appeal for fans of the sport across North America.

The companies said the planned initial marketing launch in July will be in Ontario, Canada ahead of the World Hockey Cup Games to be played in Toronto in late August. According to Domenic Fanelli, president of Kewl International, "We are already into the process of lining up fan favorites who also are strong endorsers of KEWL apparel and are expressing great interest in participating in this unique promotion."

Added Andrew Wells, president of Kool Telecom, "Pursuing our goal of leadership in creating new service offerings in 'non-traditional' telecom markets, we're extremely pleased to be partnering with Kewl, a highly successful brand name well known to hockey fans in Canada, with plans to extend this popularity to fans of hockey and other sports throughout the U.S. and around the world. Kewl's connection to the players and the huge cross-marketing opportunities created by the developing distribution network for their products in Canada, and shortly in the U.S., will be key elements in making this a potentially enormous success with continuing region by region and sport by sport growth possibilities."

Mr. Fanelli stated further, "We think the Kool Tel Collector Series phone cards are a real coup for our company and another important step forward in our progress, offering exciting growth potential as well as near term revenue generation with relatively small costs attached. Kool Tel essentially will provide the manufacturing, marketing and distribution muscle for the launch as well as the technical expertise and innovation that will fuel what we see as continuing growth for an exciting product. Our initial goal is to ramp up to 100,000 cards per month, which should translate into monthly revenues of between $50,000 to $100,000 depending on how quickly we can achieve our target."
