mick, the big companies like in the dow are pretty cheap on earnings basis along with a lot of other established companies...505 for RCA or 396 for ge in '29 isn't a justifiable comparison to me...the market surging each night over the last week is one that I am not familiar with...higher fuel costs in the 70's led to flat markets for years, though...I didn't care for the article or it's implications...jmo...LJ
