IRW-Press: Greenvironment Plc: Greenvironment And Saacke Present New Product For High-Efficient Steam Generation At The Hanover Fair
Published on 18 April 2012
VIENNA (AUSTRIA)
OfficialWire PR News Bureau

- A combination of microturbines with industrial heat generators

- Maximum energy efficiency - total efficiency of up to 96 percent

- ideally suited for a variety of industrial applications (such as steam generation, thermal oil heating and drying processes)

Berlin, 18th April 2012 - At the booth for 'young and innovative companies' (hall 26 / booth D07/1), Greenvironment Plc (WKN: A1JLT1 / Symbol: GIV1) will showcase a trendsetting concept in the field of environmental technology at the forthcoming Hanover Fair (23rd - 27th April 2012).

Together with the renowned SAACKE GmbH, a world leader in combustion technology, Greenvironment is bringing a low-emission solution for steam production to market, which achieves an overall efficiency of up to 96 percent. The applications for this innovative solution are manifold and include beverage, paper & pulp, food, pharmaceuticals, textiles as well as industrial goods.

The highly efficient steam solution consists of a microturbine, adapted control technology as well as the SAACKE gas combustion unit. The system components are precisely matched to each other, ensuring a perfect match. The systems are designed and produced for specific projects according to specific customer requirements.

Industrial heat generators (e.g. steam boilers and hot water boilers) are used to generate process heat for industrial facilities or the heat supply of residential complexes as well as public facilities. By retrofitting of a microturbine to existing heat generators, those are switched from pure heat generation to combined power and heat production.

Capstone microturbines used by Greenvironment convert about 33 percent of the contributed fuel energy into electricity. The remaining 67 percent are available in the form of thermal energy in the exhaust stream at a temperature of around 280 degrees Celsius and an oxygen content of about 18 percent.

The heat or thermal energy generated in the process is directly supplied to a SAACKE gas combustion unit as hot exhaust gas. The oxygen content of the turbine exhaust gas is efficiently used in order to maximize the overall efficiency of the plant. The thermal energy generated in the microturbine CHP plant is optimally used by the adoption of an additional firing.

Mr. Matti Malkam?ki, CEO of Greenvironment Plc, said: "CHP-plants based on microturbines proved to be a reliable cutting edge technology for industry and municipalities that are looking for cost- and energy saving processes. Microturbines can be ideally used in various industrial applications. These include steam, thermal oil heating and drying processes."

Mr. Jost Sternberg, Technical Director of SAACKE GmbH, adds: 'Our general goal is to implement combined heat and power in appropriate heat generators for our customers area-wide and to exploit environmental and economic potential as far as possible. The use of this low-emission technology not only enhances the competitiveness of our customers, but also makes a valuable contribution to climate protection.'

About SAACKE GmbH

Founded in 1931, SAACKE GmbH develops, produces and distributes combustion plants, waste treatment plants and energy installations. More than 1,000 people worldwide are working for the owner-managed group of companies with headquarters in Bremen. Boilers are also produced in Croatia and China.

The SAACKE product portfolio comprises of industrial burners and combustion systems, appropriate control software and internet-based software solutions for the maintenance of these facilities. Based on standard products and specific customer requirements, SAACKE is projecting and manufacturing customized combustion plants.

The application range of SAACKE plants is manifold - both in terms of energy sources used as well as in terms of applications: in addition to utilities, waste incinerators, industrial heating plants, especially companies in the chemical industry, steel production or food production are relying on SAACKE technology for heat or steam generation, but also for the thermal disposal of waste materials.

SAACKE is present in over 50 countries with their own businesses, service stations and through partner companies. More than 100,000 industrial combustion plants and over 6,000 ship boilers are in use worldwide.
