Because every single time, the whole world sees rumors that a new ipad or iphone is going to be released LOOONG before the device is actually released. The anticipation of the device alone keeps the PPS afloat or even causes an up trend. Then, when the time comes for Apple to officially announce the new product, the PPS jumps a significant percentage. AND the difference here is that the PPS doesn't plummet back down. It may decrease slightly, but the net trend is still upward..
