From my conversations with Tom today about the update and the additional information I wanted to gather, included both your points. I also had many more questions, which he answered very clearly. I have already posted some of the info today if you want to go back and read it.
However....
The $30k-$50k range he gave was due because they are ordering enough units to get the cheapest cost by the manufacturer. Tom stated the order, which has been placed, would be 2k for rush delivery and more with the remainder of funds available and then much larger orders (5k minimum) with the proceeds from this round.
The R&D for the PP and PPP was intended to mean they are getting the first test runs manufactured. Though wording was confusing, as you pointed out. The PP and PPP are going to be much much bigger revenue streams than the CC. Which is why RFMK is already moving forward with the PP and PPP, ahead of schedule as they previously stated. The PP and PPP are the units which are going to have the sales force, which is already getting set up with OHM and hiring, for nationwide, worldwide, and online sales distribution. The inquiries and pre-order requests RFMK has already gotten from the PP and PPP has proven to be even larger than expected and thus the R&D and manufacturing is moving forward much much sooner.
From what I gathered, shareholders have a huge amount of PR's coming in just a short amount of time. Tom stated the directors and management will be announced any day, probably tomorrow or next day (once i's are dotted and t's are crossed, ordered delivered of new shipment, online store open, additional distribution contracts set up from OHM, sales force hired and opened, accounting firm to initiated (again tomorrow or the next day), and long term funding announced.
Tom also stated that the long term funders who are very serious in working with them, just want RFMK to initiate the plans he stated today in the update, NOT GET THEM COMPLETED FIRST, to get the funding. Which I believe he made very clear :)
So, there is going to be lots of these more detailed completions announced very very soon...imo
