Tell ya what I think (and it's not exactly good):

CEO has lotsa 'old buddies' from his trading days. They band together. Do each other favors.

CEO says "load up early on the stock and ride the wave created by my March filings. Everyone will be expecting an April 15th filing, especially since I said one would clearly indicate "if any debt still exists". Sell before the filing is due though, and I'll hold the filing past the deadline, 'causing a panic sell-off, and you buds can buy it all (and more) back on the panic. Then I'll file, and you guys can ride the second wave. Afterwards, we'll all meet at Hilton Head for a week of golf. You guys buy."
