We had tortilla chips in a small area and it was funny to watch the isle captain get pissed at the Frito Lay distributor for moving his space over to fit all of his products on the shelf. He took down all of the products and put them in several boxes and put them in the back. 2 days later there was a war b/c there were no codes on the boxes so they were assumed as stales and thrown away since the FL guy did not take them with him. Eventually a new Frito Lay guy came around but that is how I started to learn the distribution side of this biz. We did about 12 Wal-marts in PHX for 2 years before I went on to better things. Def a lot of fun.
Its crazy to think about how fragile the system is and how any interruption could break the chain and cause chaos.
Anyways I am always open to learning more so please school me WC.
Meh.. 5 years in BB retail. Its a good time.
The best thing ever is the Budweiser guy left his tailgate unlocked one night and someone stole all of his credit (expired) beer..
Ugh those poor bastards had no idea what was in store for them.
