The only obligation the company has is transparency (fully reporting) and to create shareholder value. The first they have accomplished and the second they are working towards. Just because it has not happened on your time line does not make it a failure. Real businesses take time to build if done so properly. The company has laid out its plan for distribution and sales and have provided a timeline they expect to accomplish this goal. If you missed this I'm sure someone on this board will happily point it out to you.
Brand recognition will come once the market has had adequate time to respond to the product and it's usefulness. This occurs only after the product is rolled out on a national level (see above). Judgmental pinky critics do not make or break a brand and are not representative of a target market.
