"The Holllywood Musicals" CD (1986), brings together the collaboration of Johnny with Henry Mancini. "Crazy World", written by Henry Mancini and Leslie Bricusse, was performed in the 1981 movie Victor/Victoria, starring Julie Andrews, who sings the song in the film. Beautiful, beautiful piece- and so suited to Johnny's voice and the arrangements of Mancini. This CD celebrates musicals from the 1930's up to the 1980's- and while, as the liner notes state, many of the pieces are over 40 years old (at time of recording), "this album combines the feeling of Henry Mancini's musical signatures with the unmistakable singing style of Johnny Mathis.. ..the production expertise of Denny Diante, and Henry and Johnny's individual signature styles, make the songs as current and vital as ever."
