TA gets a bad wrap because many will profess a knowledge of it when in reality they know very little. It takes a long while to become accomplished in the art/science. While I have been a student of TA for more than 16 years, I did not create many effective tools until just a couple years ago.
Many posters offering technical opinion are of short study. Guru types and well-knowns have been in it for years and years. Few stay with it long enough to become truly knowing and accomplished. I can remember a public argument with a poster over cd divergence. When asked of his study it boiled down to a few online paragraphs on the topic. I, on the other hand, had read three separate books alone on topic. Like anythging else, it is what you make of it.
Sorry you do not understand the posted confirmation technique.
