Hey Jim - I've been expecting either a license or a pronouncment of no need for license from IPWireless for a year or 2. I'm thinking it's not happening with IPWireless because they've been shipping commercial product now for the past year, and one of their co-founders used to be employed by Q. If they intersected Qs patents with their implementation of stand alone TD-CDMA then we would have heard the warning shot by now. What's also interesting and a little surprising to me is that IDCC, even with their history of involvement with TDD have backed off from IPWireless's implementation.

The author may have IPWireless's TD-CDMA mixed up with TD-SCDMA, which intersects several key Qualcomm patents....but they are different standards.
