You are right about Lennie Pond. He beat out Darrell Waltrip for Rookie of the year in his rookie year, but if I remember it right, he only won one race. Talledega. He held the record for the fastest race ever run for years and years and might still hold it. That was before restrictor plates.

Carter Myers IV is the son of Carter Myers III.

Carter III owned Petersburg ford. Carter IV opened Colonial Honda and bought Heritage Chevrolet from a Mr. Goynes. It used to be Goynes Chevrolet. He also owns a chain of auto rental stores called Auto Rent. I think you are also correct in that he owns some car lots in the western part of the state.

My daughter worked there part time for several years while in high school, but it was during the late 90's and early 2K's.

I live about five miles from the dealership.
