I think she was actually elected to the position, not appointed. She was appointed in this specific incidence as Special Prosecutor.

But regardless of party, she most certainly could be harboring aspirations to 'move up in the world', and be willing to step on anybody in her way to achieving her 'rightfully earned stardom'.

Look at Newt, for a prime example of 'consorting with the enemy'. There are many other RINOs around too. I doubt they'd allow someone like Zimmerman to deter them.
