You take a small town that was not particularly known for racial tensions, send a bunch of race baiters like Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and the New Black Panthers down there to stir up trouble, then have Congressmen/Congresswomen talking about cold blooded murder and the Atty Gen. saying he was looking to see if he needed to get involved, and you have a recipe for disaster.
If a "white" group of any kind had publicly announced a bounty "dead or alive" on a person who had not even been officially charged with a crime, the Atty General would have sent the entire Justice Dept. down there to arrest the group for a hate crime. jmho
