Here's the thing with MPIX and many other pinks out there:
Most businesses operate based on an idea (ie: Bill Gates had an idea to sell an operating system he saw a need for). If they can get other people to like the idea... see potential profit in the idea, they can raise money for that idea. In order to raise money as a public company, they need to sell the idea to investors and give away pieces of ownership in the company. Investors should be fully aware of all risks as well as reward (If Bill Gates failed to raise money to buy the operating program, Microsoft may have never been).
Many of these pinks pursue several angles of business opportunities until one reveals itself as the most successful. As investors, we're constantly looking for that one pink needle in the haystack that becomes successful... but needles are hard to discern, as it were. I have seen pennies exactly like MPIX that had 3 or 4 irons in the fire that have taken off like skyrockets once that one line of business proved profitable... seen it hundreds of times.
Another thing... many pinks are shell corporations that had histories in other lines of business, but the investment Bankers utilized to bring a company public sometimes use these shell companies to back business owners into them as reverse mergers, so they can have instant stock. It can be cheaper than starting a public company from scratch. So... some of the mixed lines of business we see on some pinks are actually irrelevant. I always hope that leadership drives whatever the business is toward profit.
That's why we invest, isn't it? In hopes a business does well and shares the profits? To do this, we entertain risk. Investors must be patient to let things pan out and not assume every piece of bad news is the end of the line. As long as someone is at the helm driving progress, hope is alive! Go MPIX!!! ... be that pink needle
