The logic is sound, but what will be the trigger for the start of this great sell-off?

It has already happened. After being short for 6 months (long SDS), I finally capitulated last Monday, April 2nd, after I was forced to cover short 200 SPY due to an option assignment over the weekend. I have been playing this trade for 6 months, hoping to cover on a Monday huge gap down. That never happened. Only shallow pullbacks that were bought. So, in a fit of poor discipline, I sold the SDS too.

When I threw in the towel and sold most of my SDS at an extreme loss, that was the trigger. If you look at the charts, you can see I tell the truth.

I figured The Bernanke would continue to prop up the market, and Monday morning's action seemed to confirm it. of course, I should have waited another hour, and I probably would have realized the market fund buying ceased at the end of March. But, of course the market gods waited until I had declared and played my hand before they decided they could finally let the market drop, once my ability to profit had been eliminated.

But, life is great, and I am happy for the many blessings I do have,
