I have written the author of the blog post and asked him to clarify his last paragraph. As I remember the judge directed the receiver to evaluate claims of creditors and decide which had merit and settle them, but also to retain as much value as possible for the shareholders. That part was not mentioned but IMHO should have been central to his story. I'll post whatever he sends me.
