Albania to start privatisation of four hydropower plants in June 2012.
The Albanian government will call an international tender for the privatisation of four hydropower plants in June, local news portal albeu.com reported, citing a statement of economy minister Nasip Naco. The plants are Bistrica 1 and 2, Ulza and Skopeti. The authorities have invited strategic investors with minimum capital of EUR 25mn to take part in the sale. The combined output of the four plants stood at 406 million KWh in 2010, accounting for 5.5% of the country's total energy production. The plants have been spun off from state-owned power utility KESH prior to the opening of the sales procedure
