Clean, thanks for this. Looks like the editors of that online publication basically took AMY's p.r. of March 7 and turned it into a brief article. But it reminds me of just how REALLY interesting AMY will look as a potential big cash-flow generator once they have proven they can generate LMD.

Btw, i don't know if i ever relayed a Stockhouse post from Chris ("my69z") over here to IHUB, but Chris surmises that there are TWO kinds of LMD, a basic LMD and a "superior" (ultra-pure) LMD, the latter having an even greater per unit profit potential....

AMY is making 2 LMD's.....

See May 11, 2011 video [with Larry on Al Korelin show]
....EMD [says Kemetco] is just like making EMM.
Costs:
EMD.....60 cents
Buy Lithium.... 50 cents
Processs....$1-$2
THAT LMD...sells for $8-$9 a pound
http://www.resourceintelligence.net/?p=18401
------------
Jump to this comment...."has retained Kemetco Research Inc. of Richmond, BC to undertake research in the production of an improved lithium manganese dioxide."
And this is why you get this comment.....“The Company is positioned to take a leading role in providing products to the emerging rechargeable battery market,” says Mr. Reaugh. “The manganese extraction process is well suited to produce ANY OR ALL of the high value added manganese products including LMD. LMD is quoted at $30 to $60 US/kilogram FOB China."
-----------
Aka.....the "Superior" that we heard about last week [in AMY's March 7 news release about Kemetco making EMD/LMD/CMD for them].
-----------
This 2011 Korelin video.... Larry talks about a LiMn powder selling for $30-$60 a pound and says....so what IF AMY's costs is even $10 a pound but in turn, is able to sell it for $20 a pound. And this why we just got this comment on starting to look at a "superior" LMD.
"is pleased to announce the Company has retained Kemetco Research Inc. of Richmond, BC to undertake research in the production of an improved lithium manganese dioxide."
"Kemetco provides an opportunity for the production of ultra-high purity manganese dioxide for use in lithium ion batteries. The Kemetco process avoids traditional steps (grinding of the resource followed by roasting) that are known to introduce impurities to battery grade lithium ion battery material.”

-----------
Soooo....we actually have:
[Basic LMD:]
EMD... .60 cents/lb to make
Process into TODAYS LMD... $1-$2 a pound [including the adding of lithium to the EMD]
Total production cost.... $3-$4 a pound
Sells for.........................$8-$9 a pound
----------
Superior LMD :
Total production cost.... $10 a pound
Sells for.........................$20 a pound
----------
The potential is staggering.
EMM....EMD...CMD...LMD Sr. & LMD Jr.
Imo...AMY should & will go after all these markets because not all need the same types of performance.
I still stick to my [idea of] AMY finding, at minimum, enough value in that dirt from off-take of metals to cover the costs of at least the total of EMM & EMD production costs. ( $1.10-$1.30 )
----------
Tim.....we argued in the past about what we were hearing about profit margins on LMD. We were both right !! We were using one profit scenario for two completely different markets.
