Lots of pumps and dumps and scams don't go to the trips at all, much less do so quickly. It all depends on the selling and if the stock is being held up by insiders. The price of an individual share is not indicative of the company's status as real or a P&D/scam.

And the stock WAS subject to a paid promotion in the past. There is only one reason for such a promotion - to allow someone (usually insiders) to dump stock. They may very well have dumped a lot of stock last summer. As much as the limited market would bear, anyway.
