NeoMedia Technologies earlier this month announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded it a patent relating to the resolution of mobile barcodes.

NEOM was awarded a patent entitled “System And Method For Using An Ordinary Article Of Commerce To Access A Remote Computer”. The patent covers systems and methods for providing users of mobile barcodes automatic access to remote computers.
