RF Micro Devices will provide various components for two new LG Optimus wireless devices, the Greensboro chip-maker has announced.

The components will be included in the Optimus 4X HD and Optimus 3D Max devices, RF Micro (NASDAQ: RFMD) said. Both are Android devices; the 4X HD has a 4.7-inch display and a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor while the 3D Max has a 4.3-inch display and a dual-core, 1.2 GHz processor. Both are expected to launch globally this year.

"RFMD is pleased to expand our relationship with LG and support these flagship smartphones with our industry-leading cellular and Wi-Fi components,” said RF Micro CEO Bob Bruggeworth. “RFMD's PowerSmart power platforms continue to lead a product category that is reshaping the future of multimode, multi-band cellular RF architectures, and we anticipate sequential growth in PowerSmart shipments throughout the calendar year."
