I don't think you are comparing apples to apples. The main difference is that Coke is advertising the product and not the stock, in my eyes it's a bit different. What I would consider "Awareness" is more like gorilla advertising - as it can be shifty and luring at times. But that's just my two cents!

Branding pushes buying, buying pushes profit, profit pushes stock.
