Jagman.....thanks. Doesn't sound like ole GE is in any big hurry on this project, however.

"Under a 10-year, three-phase agreement with DOE valued at $83 million, GE Energy's Hybrid Power Generation Systems (HPGS) business will design and demonstrate an integrated gasification fuel cell (IGFC) system that incorporates a hybrid SOFC/gas turbine as the primary power generation unit."

Also interesting that the world's biggest corporation is using government funds for the project.

Big energy companies like GE, BP and others love to show that they are seeking alternative energy sources and are environmentally conscious.....often through mass media advertising/promotional campaigns.

They feel it makes for great public relations.

How serious they really are about it may be another story.
