Alpha HPA eyes global demand with stage 2 facility

Alpha HPA Ltd Managing Director Rob Williamson talked with Proactive at the AIM Small and Midcap conference about how the company is redefining aluminum purification through its novel solvent extraction technology. Alpha HPA is producing high-purity aluminum materials for advanced industries such as semiconductors, lithium-ion batteries, direct lithium extraction, and LED technologies. Williamson explained that while solvent extraction has been used in industries like copper and rare earths, Alpha HPA is the first to apply it to aluminum purification, allowing for significantly reduced energy input and improved sustainability. Williamson said, “We can produce our materials at a 70% lower carbon footprint compared to incumbent manufacturers.” This aligns with growing global demand for cleaner technologies and supports the energy transition. The company recently signed a letter of intent with a customer in the semiconductor market, targeting an alloy used in polishing silicon carbide wafers. The product is 50% more efficient than alternatives, and Williamson noted the Stage 2 facility, currently under construction, is expected to have 10,000 tonnes of annual capacity to meet rising demand. Acusensus talks global expansion and growth drivers

Acusensus Ltd Managing Director talked with Proactive at AIM's Small and Midcap Conference about the company’s progress in road safety technology, its global expansion, and the upcoming launch of a new product line aimed at road worker protection. Alex Jannink, Managing Director and Co-founder of Acusensus, explained how the company pioneered enforcement cameras targeting behaviours like mobile phone use and seatbelt compliance. “We supply these automated enforcement cameras...and we receive a fixed monthly fee essentially for those services,” he said, outlining the company's outsourced business model under long-term government contracts. While 93% of revenues currently come from Australia, Jannink confirmed growth is underway internationally, with active customers in the United States and United Kingdom. Acusensus has also secured a nationwide speed enforcement contract in New Zealand, expected to contribute significantly from the next financial year. Jannink highlighted the broader social mission behind the business: “The whole goal of the company is to change behaviours and to save lives.” He pointed to strong behavioural impacts from previous deployments, including a six-fold drop in mobile phone use and a 21% reduction in road fatalities in New South Wales. Opioid-Free pain relief: AFT’s global expansion strategy

AFT Pharmaceuticals Ltd Managing Director Dr Hartley Atkinson talked with Proactive at the AIM's Small and Midcap Conference about the company's unique approach to drug development, its expanding global footprint, and what lies ahead in 2025. AFT Pharmaceuticals is focused on creating pharmaceuticals "with a difference," targeting unmet needs and reducing reliance on opioids. “We don’t sell anything we don’t believe in,” said Dr Atkinson, highlighting the importance of alternatives to opioid treatments. One of the company’s key analgesic products helps avoid opioid use — a particularly timely innovation in light of the global opioid crisis. Dr Atkinson discussed the company’s core markets, with a strong presence in New Zealand and Australia, generating approximately 150 million in revenue. AFT also maintains operations in Asia and now exports to around 80 countries. The company has experienced sustained growth, having quadrupled in size over the past decade and doubled in the last five years. AFT has established six new affiliates across regions including Singapore, Hong Kong, South Africa, Canada, the UK, and Europe. atai CEO outlines strategic focus for 2025 including four major data readouts

atai Life Sciences (NASDAQ:ATAI, ETR:9VC) CEO and co-founder Dr Srinivas Rao talked with Proactive about the company's upcoming clinical milestones and strategic focus in 2025. Rao outlined four major clinical readouts across atai’s pipeline of short-duration psychedelics, including updates on VLS-01, BPL-003, RL-007 and EMP-01. The company has dosed its first patient in the VLS-01 trial for treatment-resistant depression, a study that includes an innovative two-dose approach. Rao noted, “This will be the first data set that's going to come out that really addresses the question of what is the incremental benefit of a re-dose?” The trial is expected to read out in Q1 of next year. The BPL-003 trial has completed enrolment and is expected to report results mid-year, alongside RL-007, which targets cognitive impairment associated with schizophrenia. EMP-01, which focuses on social anxiety disorder, is also underway with data expected around the same time as VLS-01. Rao also highlighted that atai recently raised additional capital, extending its funding runway into 2027. The company is focused on short-duration psychedelics with easy-to-administer formulations, such as VLS-01's oral strip delivery system.
