It would but there are three things to consider on that. (1) It's a one year shelf life unrefrigerated and unopened. That time span is what the FDA makes Attitude put on them. The shelf life is much longer and survivalist are known to keep things past "best if used by" dates. (2) Several items that survivalist stock up on have a year or less best if used by date. They constantly rotate goods....first in first out. (3) The ability to have a real milk based product that has this kind of shelf life is awesome. GLTA
