The change in the bid ask has very little to do with the overall interest in the stock. When you see large volume in relation to the bid ask moving up is when you should start wondering if a big announcement is pending such as the one we saw 2/7 - 2/14. A lot of times big volume precedes a big announcement even if it's months down the road. Accumulate here and there for the time being till the announcement is made is the motto that insiders are accustomed to!
