8:23 AM Broadcom (BRCM) confirms reports that it's to buy Broadlight, an Israeli provider of "Passive Optical Network" (PON) processors. Broadcom is to pay an initial $195M and possibly another $10M in the deal, which will enable the U.S. firm to "support customer requirements for rolling out next-generation fiber networks."
