Being curious I have watched the two shows on TV about mining in Alaska. Assuming these are indicative of small start ups then it looks like the odds even what is considered a gold rich area is not very good. Most seem at best to cover their meager cost. One of the larger concerns handed out $8000 a person for working for what 4-5 months. Think about it a waitress at a waffle house makes more than that in tips. It does make me wonder if reality and speculation are anywhere close in the same ballpark. Sure you have a few winners, but what are the odds of winning? Hope it is better than a lotto ticket.
