In response to my quote: "The company did not join any of the alliances that were establishing standards or working together to develop mutually agreed upon protocols for 3g and beyond."

You Write: "That's why they have trials...that's them working with the companies....geeezz."

This from someone claiming to work with all the advanced communication technologies every day for the past 15 years?

You don't know the difference between a functional trial and a working committee built of member enterprises with the goal of establishing common interoperability standards?

Let me help you out; trials are when one company tests another company's gear to see if they can make it work. This is what Calypso CLAIMS to be doing with Linkotel, Sleipner, others.

Specification Standardization Working Groups are Enterprises that are operating in cooperation to develop a common set of standards that guarantees that each of their respective components works interoperably with components made by other members of the group.

So the reality is that nothing could be more wrong than what you said. In fact, trials like those CLYW says they're doing are the byproduct of NOT participating with the working groups. Since they didn't participate, no one KNOWS if their gear works with anyone else's gear or even if it works at all.
