I think some misinterpet what the sale of assets means. When our company was purchased by a publicly held company it was called an asset sale. Structured that way for tax purposes, benefitted both parties. Actually they are not just buying assets, they are buying assets, customer base, future business, and their is also usually something included for current management to stay in place, goodwill etc. It is not just the sale of tangible assets..
