An opinion from someone who attended the open house and witnessed the live demonstration!

I attended the open house and witnessed the demonstration live. It was very clear to me I was witnessing a 3D construct updating in real-time and not some artificial 2D rendering! When Dean inserted his hand into the Dominion it took 2 to 3 seconds for it to appear on the screen in 3D. Once the image appeared on the screen the image became very stable and clear. The real-time 3D image updating was taking place so quickly that when he began to open and close his hand it took a little work but I was finally able to shift my focus from the movement of his physical hand to the screen and watch it update. I witnessed Dean’s fingers moving into a fist and then as they opened back to a fully open hand in 3D updating every second.

Of course this is just my opinion and I have no radiological credentials. What I can say is my opinion is based on information I acquired first hand, live and in person.
