Yeah, I figured as much. Totally different than my experiences in Africa. I bet there are even hamburger joints there ... couldn't get one in the Congo. A french guy, though, had a great pizzaria. Old wood fired, brick ovens - best pizza I ever had ...
Sea food was about the best priced thing we could get there, both in the Congo and in Algeria. I found nothing wrong with lobster tails or fresh sole. Shark steaks were good too.
A decent dinner out in a medium reestaurant ... about $50 - 65 per person. In a nice restaurant - $100 + per.
Not counting the wine.
Sounds like you have it much better there though. I can understand why you like it so much. Good living at a reasonable price! What's not to like?
