I wouldn't be too excited about a merger/buyout.

From the looks of it, if a merger/buyout is in the process, besides time for DD on account of the buyer (as pointed out by Smoke's link), they could be using this time to let the PPS fall so the announced PPS is 'on the cheap', so to speak. Like others have pointed out, we would benefit nevertheless, but at what cost? If this is the case, we as shareholders would stand to gain far more from the company standing on its own 2 legs and producing value for us. Otherwise, we've been waiting all this time for a buyout/merger that produces a mere x2 or x3 return.
