A shareholders view of Military E-MHR conference (15-16 Mar).

Had privilege of attending and observing the diligent efforts of MMRG team. The conference was held in a single ballroom; arranged for attendee focus on extensive presentation schedule. Exhibitors were given tables around the back of the room where the main entrance and refreshment spread was laid out. In between the presentations, during small breaks, and lunch hours; there was time for interaction with speakers, distinguished attendees, and other private sector contractors. My purpose there, as a veteran and shareholder, was to assist mostly in providing MMRG familiarity with DOD culture regards staff interactions. It was apparent immediately though that Mr. Lagani and his assistant did not need much help, if any, in that regard. They were quite “at home” in this environment; they were there with a purpose in learning about the challenges DOD/VA are facing in HiT; and aggressively sought out any opportunities to apply MMR product to the fix as well as seeking out attending private sector companies for potential partnerships for those fixes. I was particularly impressed that Mr. Lagani had a discussion with the Commanding Officer of the USMC’s wounded warrior regiment in order to determine ways MMRG could assist with their HiT challenges. I could tell he took it to heart. They were quite busy in talking to as many reps as time allowed. I did not observe all their interactions, as often they split up and were seeking out and talking to attendees/presenters separately; either in the conference room or in the lobby (if networking conversations were needed to continue during presentations). I did, however, see enough of those interactions to know that shareholders should not be concerned that these guys are on their game-They most certainly are. I was very thankful that they got a chance to talk to Ms. Janet Marchilbroda, co-chair on the Bipartisan Task force for Health IT initiatives (Report released end of January). Government rep interactions included leads in the i-EHR and VLER programs for DOD/VA; as well as a rep from the National Coordinator for health IT (DHHS). Mr. Lagani and his assistant also talked with private sector companies that already have contracts and/or are working on contract bid proposals. Funny thing; I was supposed to be there to “translate” DOD speak for MMRG ; yet when I observed some of these conversations between MMRG team and these other iT companies; it was I who needed a translator- They know their systems, platforms, and could converse with these guys on the subject matter like they were already partners with these companies. What I saw is giving me some good vibes. Looking forward to hearing how some of the follow-up correspondence goes with these contacts on the shareholder’s conference call 30 March. A bonus in my mind was Mr. Lagani talking with Mr. Shahid Shah “the Healthcare it guy” blog. I didn’t hear the conversation; but just the thought of this guy being familiar with MMRG; and potentially posting a review; gave me goose bumps.

Regards TAPCO’s question earlier: “is MMRG pursuing the process of getting into the extensive DOD/VA acquisitions system?” In preparation for this conference; MMRG was provided this process some weeks back from a very helpful VA representative (who laid it out step by step) on how to work future direct contracts. Regards to the near term link-ins, this VA rep also provided them some info on the Transition 21 program (aka T4-the overarching program for DOD/VA health iT initiative) and how to work a contract as partner (“alliance”) with another contractor (Prime) who already has an approved bid. I am quite confident after my attendance and observation at this conference; that MMRG will pursue this in accordance with the connections they have made and resulting future opportunities.

Before kicking off each day, in between presenters and during breaks, the main screen rotated slides of the supporting companies – for ALL the attendees to see. There had to have been at least four separate slides for MMRG; but didn’t count. MMRG made sure there were PHR cards given out to attendees to demonstrate the products as well as placing MMRG information in front of all the attendee’s chairs. – Again- it was a full court press. Due to my lack of techno-savvy, another poster will post three pictures that I took of the conference room during a break in presentations.
