Sometimes things take time, due to legal involvements. If the time frame for dealing with this situation is like the other, it could take a month or longer to have it fully resolved. Before it's resolved, an official response from the company would only complicate the issue. Therefore, they may choose to be silent in order to diminish the current effects.
The last one took a few months.
Also, while I respect Mr. Irving as well, and have spoken with him a time or 2, one must realize that he is a paid "voice" of the company. Almost all IR people that I have spoken with are company cheerleaders and deflectors. (Look at what we get from the White House Press guy (red or blue, don't matter), and realize this is basically the same position).
All in all, I think there is something big cooking in the pot, but until it is finished, it can't be revealed or it could spoil the whole thing. As you do your DD, don't forget to stand back from the individual trees once in awhile and have a look at the whole forest.
