Wholly owned property could easily have forest for carbon credit...we know Katx has University connections....does really matter if you mine or not...

examining opportunities for carbon credits for private landowners, moving forward with affordable forest and Chain of Custody certification, addressing concerns surrounding species at risk and invasive species, and designing a framework for better recognizing the contributions that landowners are making in providing ecological goods and services.

In 2008, the organization reported an expense of $44,907 for carbon neutrality. Does the Gander International Airport Authority clearcut the boreal forest to offset part of the cost of purchasing so-called carbon credits that will finance some dubious projects in a Third World country? Now the GIAA can say they are certified as carbon neutral. But, what about the damage to the boreal forest on their property?

The new clearcut is in a wet area and regeneration will be marginal even with replanting. View the pictures on this site of an old clearcut on GIAA property where the regeneration was dismal. Also, this is one of the last stands of virgin forest left in the area north of the airport: reference the second image below which identifies the cutovers in this area. As you can see, there is not much left to cut,
