Some past exploration licence applications spoken of as having been made sank without trace. They never even made it onto MRT listing for further consideration. Some applications that did get listed were later declared refused. MRT does not comment and Empire does not mention them again (standard practice for failures in all areas).

Among other details an applicant is required to give details of present holdings. One would guess if performance on them has been unsatisfactory there would be reluctance by MRT to grant new licences.

MRT may require more details from an applicant than have been provided which would cause a delay in assessment.
