For those who are interested in finding out facts they might be interested to know that the Tasmanian Mineral Resources Development Act 1995 can be accessed online and they can verify for themselves the conditions under which an exploration licence can be extended (see Section 31). There is no provision for extending the term that a licence was granted for.

A renewal of a licence can be considered when it has run its first term.
