street: This patent has not been "awarded" yet. I know it sounds like a sure thing, but the patent office keeps a published list of patents that get to this point and then are pulled.

Once the patent has been assigned a patent number AND published as a patent, it is considered "issued." Since it is not issued yet, NeoMedia has not announced they were "awarded" a patent.
