Sorry Joe. I should have mentioned I was on a thread that was waiting for the landing of the shuttle. Here is some of the post and you will see why I was upset....... Posting follows.....
Actually, I believe the Shuttle will cross the California coast a little before 6 Pacific.

I'm watching on NASA TV but I believe you can also watch at nasa.gov
Just north of Hawaii now

As I write this, the Shuttle should be re-entering the atmosphere of the planet "Earth."

It came from just north just like you said. I was out looking already. As soon as I read the time it hits SF and touchdown time I knew I better hurry up. That is on the list of cooler things I have ever seen. thanks!

It wasnt a glow that spread back like a comet but it must have been "on fire" because it was bright and big.

Back in 68 or 69 I stepped out of my BOQ room at Ft. Rucker Alabama just in time to see an orange ball cross from west to east over the Gulf of Mexico. A few minutes later the capsule splashed down in the Atlantic. Glad you got to see this one.

Don't know if anyone is watching NASA TV but it is awfully quiet.

By now there would have been cameras on the Shuttle.
