Panthers reassign Biron, agree to let him play for Team Canada


SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) -- The Florida Panthers sent defenseman Mathieu Biron to San Antonio of the AHL on Friday and agreed to let him play for Team Canada in the upcoming Sweden Games.

The Sweden Games will take place Feb. 4-9 in Stockholm.

Biron was called up Wednesday but did not appear in any games. He has three goals, eight assists and 58 penalty minutes in 43 games with San Antonio.
