it depends on how you deposit your money. if you go to a scottrade office and give them a check or money order, it becomes available to trade the next day by 8am. if you use their online "Money direct" tranfer from your bank account to your scottrade account, those funds will be available the next day as well BUT ONLY FOR NON-PENNY STOCK trades. That's because money deposited via Money Direct become "restricted funds" for 3 days. After that you can buy penny stocks with it.
