Nash-Finch Company (Nash Finch) is a wholesale food distributor in the United States. The Company operates in three segments: military food distribution, food distribution and retail. The Company’s military segment contracts with manufacturers to distribute a variety of grocery products to military commissaries and exchanges located in the United States and the District of Columbia, and in Europe, Puerto Rico, Cuba, the Azores and Egypt. Its food distribution segment sells and distributes a variety of nationally branded and private label grocery products and perishable food products from 14 distribution centers to approximately 1,800 independent retail locations located in 28 states, primarily in the Midwest and Southeast regions of the United States. As of January 1, 2011, its retail segment operated 52 corporate-owned stores primarily in the Upper Midwest. During the fiscal year ended January 1, 2011(fiscal 2010), it closed its food distribution center in Bridgeport, Michigan
