I'm not entirely sure that it is manipulation so much as filling a lot...and you have to remember THEY create a lot of the market, hence "market makers". If they have to fill a lot and it has to come from an actual person, the prices could be significantly different. They provide liquidity to the market. They are buying and selling within a much tighter range than most of us...

Where would you sell right now? Not until .0001 or $1.00 or so, right? So, they have to find someone or some other MM to fill lots and make things happen within a more realistic range.

Just think about it...maybe not shorting so much as just trying to do business the normal way
